My album Hey Daydreamer has just been added to the long list for the 2014 Australian Music Prize! Yay!! So honoured! And thanks to the judges, and everyone who helped me make it the album that it is.
Doing a total fake, playing the piano pose for a photo during my @breakthruradio performance and interview in New York a few months ago. You can now watch it LIVE on their website www.breakthruradio.com
I just wanted to say Thank You to all you lovely people who came out to my shows in Australia in April. Playing live is always such an incredible part of the process of making and releasing an album, especially when you get to have Bree van Reyk in your band! I’m back in Los Angeles doing lots and lots of songwriting, and I can’t wait for you to hear what I have been working on!
I’m really excited about my shows in New York on the 17th June, and LA on 19th June. You can book your tickets here: www.sallyseltmann.com/shows
Sven Libaek had a huge influence on my songwriting and the choices I made in terms of instrumentation and arrangements for my new album ‘Hey Daydreamer’. I was listening to his albums ‘Inner Space’, from the underwater documentary series, and ‘Nature Walkabout’. I highly recommend that you check out both these albums!
Sven Libaek is an Australian composer and I was originally introduced to his music quite a few years ago while watching Wes Anderson’s ‘The Life Aquatic’. It was Noah Taylor who put Wes onto Sven, and when I met Noah Taylor a few years ago I was able to thank him personally for bringing Sven Libaek’s music into my life.
Thank you Sven Libaek! (and thanks Noah!)
Thought you might like to see these amazing stills from the ‘Catch Of The Day’ film clip!
